Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival

The Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival is a Sunshine State spectacle featuring over 100 films from around the world, lavish parties with celebrity guests, and unforgettable moments made even more cinematic by the stunning South Florida sunset. Next festival dates: November 3-12, 2023.

Arts Accelerator Film Festival

Instead of submitting films, creative teams compete to write and shoot original short films in three days, from concept to completion. Festival winners will be compiled into a feature-length “South Florida Emerging Filmmakers” showcase for global distribution. Next festival dates: films shot between August 24-27, 2023; films screened at Savor Cinema on September 23, 2023.

FTLADW Filmmaker Showcase

Fort Lauderdale Art & Design Week launched its first ever Filmmaker Showcase in 2023 as a new initiative to support emerging and established voices to discover local filmmakers based in Broward County. Next festival dates: TBD January 2024.

Hollywood Florida Film Festival

The Hollywood Florida Film Festival’s objective is to unite the community of Hollywood, FL through the medium of cinema, bringing the visual arts of movies from around the globe to their beautiful community. Next festival dates: November 11-18, 2023.

Native Reel Cinema Festival

Celebrating the art and culture of Indigenous and Native American artists, filmmakers, and musicians. Hosted by the Seminole Tribe. Next festival dates: February 9-10, 2024.

OUTshine Film Festival

OUTshine’s mission is to inspire, entertain, and educate; encouraging a sense of community through international and culturally diverse film, video, and other media that offer historical and contemporary perspectives on the LGBTQ+ experience. Next festival dates: October 19-29, 2023.

Popcorn Frights Film Festival

Popcorn Frights is the largest genre film event in Southeast US and has been named one of “The World’s 50 Best Genre Festivals” by MovieMaker Magazine, one of “The Best Horror Festivals in the World” by Dread Central, and one of “Florida’s Best Film Festivals” by the Sun-Sentinel. This community event brings the best of genre cinema in all its forms to an enthusiastic and appreciative audience. Next festival dates: August 10-20, 2023.
